SHARE YOUR STORY

Why tell stories?

In the Vineyard we believe that telling stories about what God is doing across the Movement is so important in what we do. God is at work and in recognising and sharing this, we give him the honour and glory that he deserves.

As people who are seeking to live naturally supernatural lives, sharing stories encourages and reminds us that we are part of a much bigger family. Sometimes pressing into God in our own context can feel isolating, and so hearing what God is doing in other places reminds us that we’re not alone. Even when we’re not seeing breakthrough we can celebrate that God is real, alive and at work.

In the Bible, we read incredible stories of the Holy Spirit at work in power in the book of Acts, but these stories of miracles were only supposed to be the beginning! They were never intended to be the high water mark, but to fuel us in a hunger for more. Jesus himself said before he went to heaven that whoever believes in him me will “do even greater things than these”. (John 14:12 NIV)

When we hear recent stories of miracles and where God is at work, it increases our faith and reminds us of what’s possible. When we hear of others taking risks and seeing God at work in their everyday lives, it spurs us on to do the same. When we share what God has done, we offer an invitation for others to step into that.

We would love for you to share your stories with us. Not every story is for sharing publicly, so do let us know if you are happy for us to share your story.
